Social Projects: shea butter from Burkina Faso

Shea Butter from Burkina Faso. This successful collaboration between Dr. Reynaldi and a missionary in Bobo-Dioulasso (Burkina Faso), Sister Laura Bonin at Istituto Immacolata Regina della Pace, began in 2003. This project to promote the value and dignity of women began with the production of shea butter and the creation of the association Yelen Noi per Voi (“Yelen – Us for You”), originally a group of twelve women (and now of 25 women) led by Henriette Tientarboum.

The small firm has grown quickly and, in addition to the butter, now produces creams, soaps and fragrances using Dr. Reynaldi’s formulas.

The butter produced in Bobo-Dioulasso is used in Turin to make a line of products enjoyed for its natural ingredients and for the aid that goes to the association.
